Cyclist hurt in 'racist' attack
Cyclist hurt in 'racist' attack
As this is a report by the BBC we have to hazard a guess at the "race" of the victim and the "race" of the perpetrators, but don't take a lot of working out, does it. If the lady had been non-white it would have been front page news for weeks.
An attack on a cyclist by four teenagers in Langshott is being treated as a racially aggravated assault by Surrey Police.
The 49-year-old woman was cycling along a secluded lane near Langshott Manor when she was approached by four teenagers, who were also on bicycles.
They blocked her path, racially abused her and one boy rode his bike into her, knocking her to the floor, police said.
The woman's head hit the ground during the attack at 1450 GMT on Tuesday.
Det. Con. Rachael Pearson said: "This was a completely unprovoked and malicious assault and we are determined to bring those responsible to justice."
She appealed for anyone who saw the attack or the boys to come forward.
"I am specifically keen to trace a jogger who stopped and asked the victim if she was okay after the incident.
"This man may have vital information so if that was you please come forward."

How to Be Immune to the Swine Flu Virus - A Special Report
How to Be Immune to the Swine Flu Virus - A Special Report
As increasing numbers of swine flu cases have emerged around the world, and a "public health emergency of international concern" has been declared by the World Health Organization, fears of a global swine flu epidemic grow worldwide.
Madison Cavanaugh, author of "The One-Minute Cure: The Secret to Healing Virtually All Diseases" has a message of hope, however.
She insists that the fear is incorrectly placed on the swine influenza virus itself. "Microbes, germs, harmful bacteria and viruses, such as the swine influenza virus, do not cause disease in and of themselves," Cavanaugh states.
"They do seek their natural habitat -- such as an oxygen-deficient body -- rather than being the CAUSE of the disease. It's no different from the way mosquitoes seek out stagnant water, but do not cause the pool to become stagnant."
Cavanaugh's assertion is consistent with the findings of Dr. Rudolf Virchow (1821 - 1902), also called the "Father of Pathology."
It is also supported by Louis Pasteur, the notable 19th century French chemist and microbiologist best known for his remarkable breakthroughs in the causes and prevention of disease, who recanted his germ theory of disease at his deathbed, stating, "The microbe is nothing. The terrain is everything."
The terrain of which Pasteur spoke refers to an oxygenated environment in the human body, which makes for a strong immune system. A weakened or suppressed state of the immune system only occurs when the human body lacks oxygen, thereby allowing viruses, such as the swine influenza virus, to breed.
It therefore stands to reason that the swine flu virus does not CAUSE disease, but rather seeks out an environment where it can thrive best -- and that is in oxygen-deprived bodies.
"A sufficiently oxygenated body is uninhabitable by disease," Cavanaugh states, and viruses can neither survive nor thrive in it. Therefore, the best defense against microbes, germs, harmful bacteria and viruses, such as the swine flu virus, is to keep the body oxygenated."
Cavanaugh's book, "The One-Minute Cure," discusses the therapeutic use of the only natural substance which stimulates the movement of oxygen atoms from the bloodstream to the cells to a dramatically greater degree than is usually reached by other means.
The natural remedy can be self-administered at home in less than a minute, and costs only 1-1/2 cents a day to use.

Armed robber raids St.Johns post office
Armed robber raids post office
The owner of the post office in St.Johns was threatened and tied up by a robber armed with a knife and a handgun.
The suspect entered St Johns post office in St Johns Road, Woking, at about 0730 GMT, overpowering the owner.
When a second member of staff arrived, they were also threatened and forced into a back room.
Police said the male offender then spent some time searching the premises, leaving with a quantity of cash more than an hour later.
The suspect is described as white, about 5ft 11in tall and of a stocky build. He was wearing dark-coloured clothing and a balaclava.
Det Sgt Colin Pirie said: "We believe the suspect left the scene on foot, so I'm urging anyone who saw a man matching the description to get in touch.
"It is also possible that he discarded his balaclava and dark clothes nearby, so if you find any suspicious clothing in the St Johns area please let us know."
